Why Is My Amazon Listing Missing My Book Cover, Description or Details?
Find out why your Amazon book listing may be missing its cover image, description or other information after distributing your title through Bookvault.
If your book is already live on Amazon but the listing doesn't look as expected, this doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem with your Bookvault title.
Bookvault sends your book information to Amazon through its distribution feeds, but Amazon is a third-party retailer and Bookvault has limited control over how the final product page is displayed. This means Bookvault can't guarantee that every listing will always display the cover image, description or other information exactly as submitted.
Check your book information first
Make sure the information you've entered on the Bookvault distribution page matches the information registered against your ISBN with the relevant ISBN registry.
Differences between your Bookvault metadata and the officially registered information can cause problems with Amazon listings.
Check your Amazon listing in Bookvault
Go to:
Distribution → View Listings
Here you can check your Amazon listing and see whether Amazon has returned any errors. You can also compare the metadata you've supplied with the information Amazon currently holds in its catalogue.
What if my book isn't on Amazon at all?
If the entire listing hasn't appeared yet, rather than information simply being missing from an existing listing, see:
Why Is My Book Not Showing on Amazon Yet?
Amazon listings can currently take approximately 2–6 weeks to appear, and other issues such as a future publication date or mismatched metadata can delay the listing.
What if everything is correct in Bookvault?
If your metadata is correct but Amazon still isn't displaying your listing as expected, remember that Bookvault can't directly control how Amazon presents its product pages.
