Yes! With BookvaultBespoke, you can add custom sprayed edges to your paperback and hardback books — available from as little as a single copy.

Sprayed edges are a great way to create special or premium editions of your books, adding colour or artwork to the edges to make them stand out.

 What sprayed edge options are available?

When adding sprayed edges to your book, you can choose between Custom or Solid Colour.

Custom sprayed edges

Custom sprayed edges allow you to add your own full-colour artwork or design to the edges of your book.

Custom sprayed edges cost £6 on top of the print cost of your title.

Solid colour sprayed edges

If you'd prefer a single colour, choose Solid Colour and select your chosen colour using an RGB value.

Solid-colour sprayed edges cost £5 on top of the print cost of your title.

What books can have sprayed edges?

Sprayed edges are currently available for:

  • Paperback books
  • Hardback books

You can order sprayed-edge books from as little as one copy, making them suitable for everything from individual proofs to special editions.

Will the printed colour look exactly like it does on my screen?

There can be some variation between the colour displayed on your screen and the finished sprayed edges.

The final appearance can also be affected by:

  • Cream paper stocks
  • Full-bleed interior artwork

This is because the sprayed-edge design may be printed onto a surface that isn't completely white.

For this reason, we strongly recommend ordering a proof copy before placing a larger production order, particularly when using BookvaultBespoke options.

How do I prepare my sprayed edge artwork?

If you're creating a custom sprayed-edge design, you'll need to download the correct template for your book specifications and prepare your artwork using the bleed areas provided.

What are forced edges?

We don't encourage using forced edges as an alternative to sprayed edges.

If an undesirable result occurs because forced-edge interior files have been used, this won't be eligible for a refund.

 Where are BookvaultBespoke sprayed edges produced?

BookvaultBespoke sprayed-edge books are produced exclusively at our UK print facility.

They can still be shipped worldwide or sold directly through your own online store using Bookvault integrations.
