Due to the delicate nature of Bookvault Bespoke options, we strongly recommend ordering a proof before placing a full production run. This allows you to check that you're happy with how your finished book and sprayed edges look before ordering a larger quantity.
Custom designs or solid colour sprayed edges
When selecting sprayed edges for your book, you can choose between a custom design or a solid colour.
For solid colour sprayed edges, you'll select an RGB value for your chosen colour. It's important to remember that colours displayed on a screen can look different when printed, so your selected RGB colour may not exactly match the finished product.
The final appearance can also be affected by factors such as:
- Cream paper
- Full-bleed interior artwork
This is because the sprayed edge design is being printed onto a surface that may not be completely white.
How do I download a sprayed edge template?
You can download your sprayed edge template when getting a quote or after adding a title to Bookvault with your chosen specifications.
Sprayed edges are currently available for hardback and paperback books.

How do I prepare my custom sprayed edge artwork?
Your Bookvault sprayed edge template includes blue borders showing the bleed areas.
As with your book cover file, your artwork should extend fully into these blue bleed areas. This helps prevent unintended colour markings around the edges of your finished design.
The bleed areas act as an overflow or fail-safe, so avoid placing important parts of your sprayed edge design within them. Elements positioned within the bleed may be cut off during production.
Where are Bookvault Bespoke sprayed edges produced?
Bookvault Bespoke products are produced exclusively at our UK print facility.
They can still be shipped worldwide or sold directly through your own online store using Bookvault integrations.
