Why Hasn’t My Book Thumbnail Updated After I Changed My Cover?

Bookvault automatically creates the thumbnail image when you first upload your files.

If you later replace your cover file, the thumbnail may still show the previous version. This does not necessarily mean the wrong cover file is linked to your title.

How can I check which cover file is actually linked?

You can download and check the files currently associated with your title to make sure the correct cover has been uploaded.

How do I know whether my new cover has been accepted?

Check your title under View Your Titles.

If the title shows as Active, your cover file has been accepted. The thumbnail image is generated separately, so an old image or placeholder does not necessarily mean there is a problem with the uploaded cover.

Thumbnail generation can take up to around 24 hours.

What if I still see the old thumbnail?

Your browser may still be displaying a cached version of the previous image.

Try:

• performing a hard refresh without using the browser cache
• opening Bookvault in an incognito or private browsing window

If the title is Active and the thumbnail still has not updated after around 24 hours, use the Request New Image option under:

Bookvault Distribution → View Listings

How do I request a new thumbnail?

Go to:

Bookvault Distribution

Then:

1. Find the title you want to update.
2. Select View Listings.
3. Click Request New Image.

The thumbnail should then update within 24 hours.
