How Do I Test My eCommerce Store Is Connected to Bookvault Correctly?
Learn how to test your eCommerce integration with Bookvault, check your shipping rates and confirm that orders are transmitting correctly.
Once you've connected your eCommerce store to Bookvault, it's a good idea to test the setup before you start taking customer orders.
You can do this by visiting your store as if you were a customer and going through the normal ordering process.
1. Add your book to the basket
Visit your online store and add one of your Bookvault-connected books to the basket.
Continue through the checkout process as a customer would.
2. Check your shipping options
At checkout, check that the expected Bookvault shipping rates are appearing.
The shipping rates displayed should correspond with the rates available when placing the same order through the Bookvault portal.
If the Bookvault shipping options are appearing correctly, this is a good indication that your store has been connected successfully.
3. Place a test order
For a more complete test, place an actual order through your store.
This allows you to check that the full process is working and that the order successfully transmits to Bookvault.
How long will my test order take to appear in Bookvault?
Allow up to 2 hours for the order to appear in your Bookvault portal.
Orders will often appear much sooner, but transmission isn't always instant.
If your order hasn't appeared after this time, check the relevant troubleshooting guide for your integration.

What should I check before going live?
Before promoting your store, we recommend checking that:
- Your Bookvault product is correctly connected.
- The expected shipping options appear at checkout.
- Your checkout works correctly.
- A test order successfully reaches Bookvault.
- The correct book appears on the transmitted order.
Once these are working correctly, you've tested the main journey your customers will use when ordering your book.
