What Is Font Embedding and Why Is It Important?

All fonts need to be embedded in your PDF before your book can be printed correctly.

Font embedding means including the font information within the PDF itself. This allows the typefaces used in your book to be displayed and reproduced correctly, regardless of whether those fonts are installed on another system.

Why is font embedding important?

Bookvault doesn't maintain a library of fonts due to licensing and copyright restrictions.

We therefore rely on the font information embedded within the PDF you provide to reproduce the fonts used in your book correctly.

What happens if my fonts aren't embedded?

If a font isn't embedded, the print system may attempt to replace it with a similar or available font.

This can cause your printed book to look different from your original design, including changes to the appearance of your text.

 How can I check if my fonts are embedded?

You can check your PDF using Adobe Reader or Acrobat.
