BookvaultBespoke lets you add custom sprayed-edge designs or a solid colour to your books.
Because BookvaultBespoke finishes are delicate, Bookvault strongly recommends ordering a proof copy before a larger production run so you can check how the finished book and sprayed edges look.
Can I use a custom design or a solid colour?
Yes. When choosing sprayed edges, you can select either:
- a custom design
- a solid colour
For a solid colour, you’ll choose an RGB value for the colour you want.
Colours shown on screen may not match the final printed result exactly.
The finished colour can also be affected by:
- cream paper
- full-bleed interior artwork
This is because the sprayed-edge design may be printed onto a surface that is not completely white.
How do I download a sprayed-edge template?
You can download the sprayed-edge template:
- while getting a quote, or
- after adding a title to Bookvault with your chosen specifications
Sprayed edges are currently available for hardback and paperback books.
How should I prepare my custom sprayed-edge artwork?
The Bookvault sprayed-edge template contains blue borders showing the bleed areas.
Your artwork should extend fully into these blue bleed areas, just as it would with a cover file.
Avoid placing important parts of the design inside the bleed area, as those elements may be cut off during production.
