Guide - How to view your layout or 3D proof

So, you’ve uploaded your files onto bookvault and ready to place an order, but unsure on the artwork you have supplied. Not a problem, we have both a layout and 3D proof option that will allow you to view the cover and interiors against our bleed and safety margins. 

If your title is pending approval, please follow these steps. 

If your title is a Bookvault Publishing Project, please follow these steps. 

STEP 1:
From your dashboard, access ‘View Your Titles’ from the navigation pane on the left hand side.

STEP 2:
You will be able to see your title/s here. Access the file management area for the title you want to view a proof for. You can access this by clicking the files button on the title you want upload/amend files for.

STEP 3:
Once you are in the file management area, you can choose from the layout proof, or 3D proof option. You can also switch between the 2 whilst in the previewer page.   

STEP 4a:(3D Proof)
Below I've selected the 3D proof to begin with, once the file has loaded you will see a 3D version of your book. You can move it around to view from all angles and see how your files be printed. 

Please note - For larger files, this may take a couple of minutes to load. 

STEP 4b:(Layout proof)
If you select the layout proof, you will be presented with your rear and front cover (or jacket first if applicable), you can then utilise the arrow keys to navigate through your title. You can also view the pages as 'bound' or individual pages depending on your preference. On the right hand side you'll see the bleed/safety margin information. You can turn these displays on and off by clicking the eye icon. 

STEP 6:
Once you have checked this and happy with the artwork, you can click ‘Close’ on this dialogue box and then you are ready to place an order. Or, if this is your first time uploading files or you've recently uploaded new files. The system will prompt you to approve the files before placing an order. 

My title says 'pending validation'

Whilst in the pending validation status the proofing options will not be available, as the files need to be validated on the system first before this is generated. You should see an orange 'Validate now' option next to the title in question. 

This will then take you through to the files page, and run the standard validation checks to make sure your files are correct. Once validated, if you allow around 10 minutes or so the layout and 3D proof should be available to view. 

I have a publishing project, how do I view my virtual proofs?

With publishing projects, accessing the Book Proof is slightly different. 

You'll need to make sure you have passed the point of 'Files Supplied'. If you have yet to upload these, please select the 'Upload Now' button below;

When you click this, this will take you to the files page, once uploaded and verified you will be able to check your layout and 3D proofs.
