Can you please explain the cover template?

Once you’ve entered your book specifications in Bookvault, our system will automatically generate a downloadable cover template based on your chosen book size, binding and page count.

Your Bookvault cover template shows the key measurements you’ll need when preparing your artwork, including:

• Bleed area – where your artwork should extend beyond the final trim
• Safe area – where important text and design elements should be positioned
• Spine – the correct spine width for your book specification
• Final document size – the dimensions you’ll need when setting up your cover file

You can use these measurements to create a document at the correct size in your preferred book cover design software, then place the Bookvault template over your artwork as a guide while designing.

Following the template helps ensure your print ready book cover is correctly sized and that the finished book looks as intended.
