Our system relies on barcode matching software, as we have a lot of automation it ensures that the cover and text are matching. It also allows us to easily look into any issues with books with the information on the barcode page.
How can I minimize the number of blank pages added?
We can not remove the barcode entirely, but if you follow our guidelines for file submission you can ensure that only the very last side of the sheet in your book has a barcode on it.
To minimise the number of blank pages in your book, we advise producing your files and book with the following page counts:
If your book is Royal size without bleed (234x156), or smaller, then the file and book specification should be one less than a multiple of 12. For example, 11,23,35,47,59...
If your book is US Royal size (229x152) and has bleed or smaller, then the file and book specification should be one less than a multiple of 12. For example, 11,23,35,47,59...
If your book is larger than either sizes mentioned above, then the file and book specification should be one less than a multiple of 4. For example, 3,7,11,15,19,23,27...
