Can I Put My Book on Pre-Order With Bookvault?

Learn how to set up pre-orders with Bookvault through The Great British Bookshop or your eCommerce store, including Shopify, Wix, WooCommerce and Payhip.

 

Yes. Bookvault supports pre-orders through The Great British Bookshop and across our supported eCommerce integrations.

The way you set up your pre-order depends on where you're selling your book.

Pre-orders through The Great British Bookshop

When setting up your book for distribution, enter a publication date in the future.

This allows your title to be listed on The Great British Bookshop as a pre-order before publication.

A few days before the publication date, the order will go live on Bookvault so we can aim to ship it around the release date.

Can I set up Amazon pre-orders?

No. Pre-orders aren't currently available through Bookvault's Amazon seller account.

Bookvault can't send the Amazon feed until the publication date, so your book can't be listed for Amazon pre-order through Bookvault.

Pre-orders through your own eCommerce store

Bookvault supports pre-orders across all of our eCommerce integrations:

  • Shopify
  • Wix
  • WooCommerce
  • Payhip

When setting up or connecting your product, toggle the Pre-Sale option and select your release date.

When a customer places a pre-order, the order will transmit from your store to Bookvault as normal, but it won't begin processing for print until closer to your selected release date.

What if I'm using placeholder files?

If you've uploaded temporary or placeholder files while taking pre-orders, make sure you upload the finished files at least one week before the release date.

This helps ensure your latest files are ready when printing begins.

What happens if a customer orders a pre-order and another book together?

If an order contains both a standard item and a pre-order, the entire order will be held until the pre-order is ready.

Because shipping is paid for as one transaction, Bookvault doesn't split the order into separate shipments.

Yes. Select the Pre-Sale option when connecting or setting up the product and choose your release date.

Can I take pre-orders on Wix, WooCommerce or Payhip?

Yes. Bookvault supports pre-orders across Shopify, Wix, WooCommerce and Payhip.

Can I take pre-orders through The Great British Bookshop?

Yes. Setting a future publication date when setting up distribution allows the title to be listed there as a pre-order.

Can I take Amazon pre-orders through Bookvault?

No. Amazon pre-orders aren't currently available through Bookvault.
