How to Add an Invoice, Packing List or Insert to a Bookvault Order

If you’re sending a Bookvault order directly to a customer, you can include your own document in the parcel using the Supplementary PDF option.

This can be useful if you want to add branded paperwork, a thank-you message, an invoice or other information without having to handle the order yourself.

What is a Supplementary PDF?

A Supplementary PDF is an additional PDF file that Bookvault can print and include inside your order.

It is separate from your book files and is intended for documents such as:

• Invoices
• Branded packing lists
• Thank-you notes
• Welcome letters
• Promotional inserts
• Customer information sheets

This gives you more control over the paperwork included with a customer’s order.

Where do I upload the Supplementary PDF?

When placing your order in Bookvault, look for the Supplementary PDF option during the order process.

Upload the PDF you want included with the shipment before completing the order.

The document will then be printed and packed with the order during fulfilment.

Are there any limits on Supplementary PDFs?

Yes.

Supplementary PDFs are currently supported only for orders dispatched from Bookvault UK.

The PDF must also be 10 pages or fewer. If the document is over 10 pages, it will not be attached to the order.

If your order is being produced by one of Bookvault’s international print partners, the Supplementary PDF option will not be available.

What can I include in a Supplementary PDF?

You can use the Supplementary PDF for most simple customer-facing documents.

For example, you could include:

• Your own invoice
• A branded packing slip
• A thank-you letter
• Instructions or additional information
• A discount code for a future purchase
• A message from the author or publisher

Make sure the document is supplied as a print-ready PDF and contains only information you are happy for the customer to receive.

Does Bookvault include its own invoice or receipt?

When Bookvault fulfils an order directly to your customer, the parcel is designed to be white labelled.

Bookvault does not include pricing paperwork that would reveal what you paid Bookvault to produce or fulfil the order.

If you want the customer to receive your own invoice, receipt or branded packing document, upload it as a Supplementary PDF.

Is Bookvault white labelled?

Yes.

Bookvault fulfilment is designed so your customer receives the order without Bookvault branding being prominently presented as the seller.

This allows authors and publishers to sell directly through their own website or store while Bookvault handles printing and fulfilment behind the scenes.
