Do I Need to Specify Which Pages Are in Colour?

No. You don't need to tell us the exact page numbers that contain colour.

When setting up your book, you simply need to enter the total number of colour pages and mono pages in your interior PDF. Bookvault's system will check your file and identify the appropriate pages for printing.

What counts as a colour page?

Any page containing an element that you want printed in colour should be counted as a colour page.

This could include:

• Colour photographs or images
• Illustrations
• Logos
• Coloured text
• Coloured URLs
• Any other colour element

Even if most of the page is black and white, if it contains an element that needs to appear in colour, count it as a colour page.

Do blank pages count?

Yes.

The total number of colour + mono pages must match the total number of pages in your interior PDF.

If a page is completely blank with no content, it should still be counted as a mono page.

Can colour pages appear anywhere in my book?

Yes. You can place colour pages wherever you like within your book.

Unlike some printing methods, your colour pages don't need to be grouped into sections or blocks of 2, 4, 8 or 16 pages.

What if my book is entirely black and white?

If your book is intended to be completely black and white, make sure your file doesn't contain any unintended colour.

Your file should be exported in black and white or greyscale.

Mono books may be produced using colour-capable printing equipment, so supplying the file correctly helps ensure any unintended colour elements aren't reproduced in colour.
