Can I Edit My ISBN Once I Have Added a Title?

Find out how to request an ISBN change for an existing Bookvault title, when an ISBN can be updated, and when it may be too late to make a change.

Once you've added a title to Bookvault, you can't edit the ISBN yourself through the Bookvault portal.

If you need to change an ISBN, please raise a support ticket or contact our team at customers@bookvault.app.

When contacting us, please provide:

  • The current ISBN on your title
  • The new ISBN you'd like it changed to

Our team can then look into making the change for you.

Can I change an incorrect ISBN?

If you've entered the wrong ISBN, we may be able to update it for you, provided there isn't a live order in production and the title hasn't already progressed too far through distribution.

Can I replace a Bookvault dummy ISBN with my own ISBN?

Yes. If you originally used a Bookvault dummy ISBN and now want to replace it with your own ISBN, contact us and we can look into changing it for you.

Can I change from a dummy ISBN to a Bookvault ISBN?

If you originally created your title using a dummy ISBN and now want a real ISBN from Bookvault, you'll need to add a new title and request it as a Bookvault Publishing Project.

When can't my ISBN be changed?

We can't guarantee that an ISBN can be changed if:

  • There is a live order in production
  • Distribution details have already been submitted
  • The book has already been listed through bookshops or retailers
  • Sales have already been made through the retail network
